Photoshop problem - 10-08-2008, 04:02 AM

Hello all
I start learning photo shop in the previous week.My photo shop becomes stuck when i work on large size images with more than 200 DPI resolution. My ram is 512 Mb still it stuck and get hanged .I want to know how can i solve this problem.Is it because of the RAM .Is 512 MB ram is enough or something wrong with my operating system or other configuration.I am using windows xp.Thanks in advance.
