When writing articles for the purpose of creating backlinks, should the article be related to your keyword?

I'm confused...If backlinks come from articles not related to your keyword will google disregard them?

If they are related to your keyword, will google weigh the backlink higher?

The article should be relevant to your website and if then you utilize the keywords in that article then the chances of getting back links will increase too much , all you need is to create a good and unique content so that it can divert the attention of the visitors toward your website...

I totally agree with the above member over here,That is true that the article should be highly relevant to the site for which you are making backlinks.As we all know that keywords are playing very important role in link building or we can say in whole SEO.It is batter that your keyword is relavent to the domain and the article.The main things which we should take in mind are 'Highly Relevant Backlinking' and 'Naturally Occurring Content'..

yes the article should be related to the keyword, and maintain a balance of 2% of density!
