Default Remote Desktop - 07-14-2009, 11:44 AM

I have a simple question. While I am at my office, they won't allow us to do simple things because of a firewall. However, I can use VPN or Windows Remote Desktop to connect to a machine at my house.

I used an old laptop that I dropped and the screen cracked, but it has since died.

I am sort of looking for an old used desktop, to throw up and continue to do this, but, I'm not sure 300$ is worth it.

Is there a hosting service, that will do Windows based hosting, to grant me access to remote desktop to the account.

Before anyone says it, I know that there will be problems doing some things, which is completely fine.. because I use it for simple things, chat applications, and web based email.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Remote Desktop, included with Windows XP Professional, enables to connect to computer across the Internet from virtually any computer, Pocket PC, or Smartphone.Once connected this gives mouse and keyboard control over your computer while showing you everything that's happening on the screen. For this both computers must be connected to the Internet through a VPN connection. For this you have to go to Performance and Maintenance section of control panel. Then click on the remote tab of the system and then select the allow users to connect remotely to this computer.
